my experience

`Day 1
reached the obs campsite at pulau ubin, and then did some admin stuff. group name: Sui Sen(SS). Instuctor: Tracy! the groups are all named after leaders. from cvss were me, Kalinda, Jon and Soh Shan. okay we were mixed with schs like Juying Sec, Riverside Sec and Dunman High Sec. my first smile was to Azlin, then to Atikah :D settled down, and then learned basic kayak stuff like stroking and parts of the kayak, that is, taught by instructor Hairi. partnered Azlin. had to capsize our kayaks, and learned how to rescue people and stuff. reaaaally fun. the weather wasn't hot at all, really cool. dinner was cooked by the guys! pitched tent, slept! all this took place at Camp 1.
`Day 2
most of our activities were with Barker. in the morning we assembled and then played mini olympic games, did greetings of which the Norwegian way, Japanese way and other two, i forgot ._. also did some exercises, lead by Nash, Shaun and some other people. breakfast, and then to our height elements! suisen(16 people) had to pull this some kind of groundsheet(which is not). someone will stand on this platform higher than the ground, and fall backwards.

Faller: Sui Sen, are you ready?!
SS: Sui Sen ready, Sui Sen pull!
Faller: Falling!
SS: Fall on!

we learned how to belayed next. was quite fun, really required a lot of trust in this activity, eh? there was a conversation to this to, between the climber and the belayer. haha. okay etc etc we tried out the Tripod Summit. the weather was hot, sun was scorching at this period. Tracy explained this and that, after a dry run and all we all tried out. it was reaaaaally scary when we looked. but since it is a new experience for me, it was kinda fun. :) oh yes, we didnt shower for this day, and there're no toilets as well, so had to use the toilet the natural way. if you wanna pee, that's easy. but if you wanna poo.... dig a hole and then do your business! slept at another place.

`Day 3
LandEx. our trekking day. before trekking we did alpine rescue, awww we didn't got the product, but we were more of the people and process. PPP. bagpacks packed, like not sure how light the bagpacks were, like 8 to 15kg. we had a lot of challenges. when we were about to set off, it was like raining!!!!! we were all drenched, but still moved on. everything went wrong but we managed to get the hang of it. so we trekked, 16km in total in six hours. of course, there were breaks. tiring siaaaaaaaaa, our shoulders felt like collapsing man. when we reached our destination, that is Camp 2, we throwed our bags down and just laid down!!!!!!! we screamed when we saw the toilet, we screamedddd. at night we got a briefing by Nicholas about the next day. by the time, Barker, Washington and Tock Seng were done bathing. ok after pitching the tent and stuff, it poured heavily!!!!!! wahhhh, we had to moved back our tent and stuff to another place but ya lah it was nearby. the day was a big disaster. SS had conflicts and a lot of things went wrong. at this point, we were at Camp 2.
`Day 4
SeaEx. woke up early and packed ponchos and life jackets with debbie. after SS did what we have to do, gathered, got our kayaks ready, and ready for morning blessings. oh yeah, the SeaEx leaders were Amir from SS, Shol from TS, Syafiq from WA and Nash from Barker. they're all from NCC(Sea) so how cool is that. we then started kayaking, partnered with Satish. kayak kayak kayak, started to rain and had to beach up. made more friends from other teams too. after everything was okay, continued to kayak. this time was with Azlin.
**Dear Azlin, thank you for supporting me soooooo much even though i was on the verge on giving up and stuff. we were always at the front, thanks to you. my shoulders, palms were aching so bad but you really helped me through. love you muakz.
and we kayaked like what seemed an eternity, and finally we saw CAMP 1!!!!!!! finally, after fighting against the strong currents, tides, rain and fatigue, we did it. it was, i swear, really unbelievable we did completed it. 22 kilometres man. and kayaked for 9 h, 56 min, 10s with intervals once again. washed our kayaks and got sprayed by Nicholas with water of damn hig pressure. cooked dinner, sorry Amir if i kept scolding you for emoing x.x we didn't sleep in tents tonight!!! all of us, like all the campers slept at the hall. sad that it was our last night there. oh, this was back at Camp 1.

`Day 5
did alot of indoor activities, but quite fun lah, plus the room got aircon!! hahahaha. also, we did alot of reflection while pointing out each others' strengths and weaknesses. now i knw where to improve. bought souveneirs, rushed up to settle the stores too. all gathered in the hall, and i already felt my tears swelling up in my eyes. ): and so we took pictures and all of us left... hugs to everyone!

---

i love this camp, seriously. tiring, that is obvious. but the fun, it's like wow to me. it's good to see how a group of 16 can bond soooo well in five days, see that i've changed somehow in this camp, that we feel satisfaction after completing this camp, to know how we could survive over biscuits and bread.
